There are alot of veriables in hay production but with good soil (Ph of about 6 and fertilized) you should easliy get 2 tons per acre per cutting or (80, 50lb bales)in upstate NY. The problem is drying it this year as it has rained almost every day or two. I get about 2 tons per acre in virginia in three cuttings maximum.
