My family recently purchased 80 acres in Eastern Kansas. The property has about 60 acres of open/rolling pasture. The previous owners ran cattle on the property for a few years. I would like to start a good brome hayfield and put up the hay myself. I have experience in the hay industry and understand that side of it. Where I am confused is how to start a good stand of grass hay. The pasture has weeds and some grass but nothing worth baling. Should I disk, drag, and then seed. Or should I try to drill see. I am concerned about erosion if I disk. Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
