Hello everyone! I am trying to do research on hay production (alfalfa in particular) in Montana. I've been trying to find answers to some really dumb sounding questions. :-) Could anyone tell me approximately how many tons of hay is produced per acre of land and about how much one bale (or ton) sells for? I found some scattered info on the net and came up with about 8-12 tons per acre and anywhere from $50 to $100 per ton. Any help you guys could throw to this city girl would be very much appreciated.
